Keokradong

Keokradong, at 986m, is claimed to be the second highest peak in Bangladesh (though there is ongoing dispute about exact measurements between Keokradong and Tahjindong). Reaching it requires a serious trekking expedition of two to three days from Bandarban, passing through remote hill-tribe country. Permits are required and the trek should only be attempted with a licensed local guide.

The trail passes through villages of the Bawm and Mro peoples and through dense subtropical forest. The summit itself is relatively modest in appearance — a cleared hilltop with a Bengali flag — but the journey is the point, not the destination. The best time for the trek is November to February, when the weather is dry and the air clear enough for views into Myanmar on good days. Arrange guides and permits in Bandarban town well in advance.
