Eating in Kratie is cheap, local, and centred on the river and the market. There are no tourist restaurants to speak of — which is part of the charm.
The stalls on the riverbank serve good, simple Khmer food. A bowl of chicken porridge runs around US$0.36 and pork with Chinese noodles US$0.50. At the market, steamed pork buns are US$0.12 each and beancurd patties just US$0.02 — ideal for a cheap, filling breakfast before heading out to see the dolphins.
