Stung Treng's main attractions are water-based: the Mekong and Sekong rivers, the flooded forests and wetlands, and the Irrawaddy dolphins that survive in the upper Mekong. The town itself is small and pleasant but unremarkable; the reason to stop is the natural and cultural landscape around it.
