Copper Culture Park is Tongling's flagship attraction, combining an outdoor sculpture garden, a museum, and the city's claim to world records in bronze casting. The Bronze Giant dominates the central area — a monumental figure in pure copper that functions as both a civic landmark and a statement of industrial pride. The scale is most impressive at close range, where the surface texture and the sheer mass of the casting become apparent.
The museum traces copper extraction and working from the Shang dynasty through to the present industrial era. The ancient sections cover the Tongguanshan mine sites, which operated continuously during the Bronze Age and contributed to the extraordinary quality of Shang dynasty bronzeware found across China. A reproduction of the mine workings gives some sense of the technical sophistication of early Chinese metallurgy. The modern sections deal with the Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group, which now operates what remains one of China's largest copper processing complexes — the continuity between ancient and modern is the park's underlying argument.
