Tongling North station is a major stop on the Beijing-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway, with fast connections to Hefei (about 45 minutes) and Nanjing (about 90 minutes). Regular trains also serve Wuhan and Fuzhou. The station sits north of the city center and is linked to downtown by city buses and taxi.
The nearest airport with useful domestic connections is Chizhou Jiuhuashan Airport, approximately seventy kilometers southwest. Tongling also has a river port on the Yangtze, which handled significant commercial traffic historically but now serves primarily local ferry crossings rather than long-distance passenger routes. For most visitors the high-speed rail connection is the practical choice.
