Wuyishan has its own small airport (武夷山机场) with direct flights to most major Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. Flight times are typically two to three hours from the major hubs. The airport is about 15 kilometres from the scenic area and taxis are readily available.
High-speed train is the other practical option: the Hefei–Fuzhou high-speed railway stops at Wuyishan North Station, with trains to Fuzhou taking about an hour and a half and to Hangzhou about three hours. From the station to the scenic area it is about 10 kilometres by taxi. The town itself (Wuyishan city) is the service base: most hotels, restaurants, and transport connections are here, not inside the scenic area perimeter.
