A small mosque serving Dunhuang's Hui Muslim community, a few minutes' walk east of the main square. The building is plain Chinese-style with green-tiled roof and a stylised minaret rather than the more familiar Arabic dome, and the neighbourhood around it is the centre of Hui life in town — halal noodle shops, butchers, and a few traders' courtyards.
Non-Muslims are usually welcome in the courtyard outside prayer times. More interesting as a glimpse of Hui Dunhuang than as a piece of architecture in itself; pair with a meal of donkey-meat yellow noodles in one of the surrounding restaurants.
