Yi Garden is a small museum and art space devoted to Rao Zongyi, the Chaozhou-born artist, historian, and sinologist. It adds a quieter cultural stop to the old-city circuit around Guangji Bridge and Kaiyuan Temple.
The exhibits are most rewarding if you already have some interest in Chinese painting, calligraphy, or scholarship. For everyone else, it is a short visit that helps round out Chaozhou's literary and artistic side.
