Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) is one of China's busiest, with direct flights from most major Asian cities and increasing connections to Europe and North America. The airport metro (Line 3 extension) connects to the city centre in about 45 minutes.
The high-speed rail connection from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station takes around 50 minutes to Guangzhou South station — one of the fastest and most convenient inter-city rail connections in Asia. Guangzhou also sits on the main Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed rail corridor and has excellent rail connections to Shanghai (about 8 hours by high-speed), Chengdu, and Kunming.
Within the Pearl River Delta, intercity buses connect Guangzhou to Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Macau frequently throughout the day. Ferry services to Macau and Hong Kong operate from the Nansha and Zhoutouzui terminals.
