Lotus Peak near Haimen is a seaside hill and scenic area south of Shantou, valued for coastal views, rock formations, and its association with southern Chinese maritime history. It is a quieter alternative to the standard old-city circuit.
The site is best folded into a coastal drive rather than treated as a standalone must-see. Go when the weather is clear; haze can flatten the sea view.
