Queshi Scenic Area is a ridge of granite hills, temples, gardens, and viewpoints on the south side of Shantou Bay. The best reason to go is simple: the city looks better from here, spread across the water with ships moving through the harbour below.
Paths climb through pines and subtropical shrubs to pavilions and lookout points. It is not wild country, but it is a useful green escape when the port streets feel too hot and dense.
