Zhaoqing is served by the Guizhou-Guangzhou high-speed rail line and by the regular intercity rail service from Guangzhou. The high-speed journey from Guangzhou South takes about 40 minutes; the conventional train from Guangzhou Station takes around two hours. The train station is in the eastern part of the city, with bus connections to Star Lake and the old city centre.
Direct buses run from Guangzhou's main bus terminals to Zhaoqing in about 90 minutes under normal traffic conditions. Zhaoqing is also a natural stopping point on road journeys between Guangzhou and Guilin or Guizhou. For Dinghu Mountain, buses run from Zhaoqing's main bus station in about 30 minutes.
