Beihai has its own airport with domestic flights to Nanning, Guangzhou, and a handful of other cities. The more convenient connection for most travellers is by high-speed rail: Beihai North station is served by trains from Nanning in about 1.5 hours and from Guangzhou South in approximately four hours via Nanning. The station is in the northern part of the city; buses run from there to Silver Beach and the old city centre.
From Nanning, buses also run frequently and take about two hours on the expressway. For Weizhou Island, ferries depart from the Beihai Ferry Terminal (near the old port) several times daily; the journey takes about an hour.
