Chongzuo is 90 minutes from Nanning by high-speed rail (G-trains, several daily) or by expressway bus. The city has its own high-speed rail station on the Nanning–Pingxiang line, which continues to the Vietnamese border.
Direct buses also run from Nanning bus stations to Chongzuo's main bus terminal. From Chongzuo, buses continue to the Friendship Pass and to Detian Waterfall further west — the road to Detian via Daxin takes about 2.5 hours.
For the Huashan murals, the boat dock is in Ningming County, about an hour from Chongzuo city by bus or taxi. Organised tours from Nanning or Chongzuo include the boat trip.
