Qingyan's food culture has become as much a draw as the architecture. Braised pork knuckle is the signature dish, sold from dozens of storefronts along the main street and cooked in enormous clay pots visible through the shopfront windows. The eating is best done on foot, buying from stalls rather than sitting in restaurants.
