The principal reason to come to Dingzhou is the Liaodi Pagoda, one of the great engineering achievements of the Song dynasty. The surrounding city rewards a short additional walk, with a Confucius Temple, some remnant Ming-era street sections, and a quieter provincial atmosphere than you will find in larger Hebei cities.
