Jiumenkou is an unusual Great Wall section where the wall crosses a river on a multi-arched stone bridge. The setting makes it feel different from the mountain ridges and sea-end sections around Shanhaiguan.
It is a worthwhile side trip for Great Wall enthusiasts, especially when paired with the better-known sights at Old Dragon's Head and Jiao Mountain.
