Jiamusi is now served by high-speed rail from Harbin, with the journey taking around three hours from Harbin West or Jiamusi West station. This is a significant improvement over older services and makes the city considerably more accessible than it was. Jiamusi Dongjiao Airport has flights to Harbin, Beijing, and several other cities.
By road, the drive from Harbin takes around four hours. Buses from Harbin are an alternative but slower option. Within Heilongjiang, Jiamusi can be reached from Mudanjiang and other provincial cities by local rail or bus.
