The nearest transport hub is Xinyang, about 38 kilometres north, connected by high-speed rail to Zhengzhou (roughly 90 minutes) and Wuhan (roughly 60 minutes). From Xinyang, buses and taxis run to Jigongshan; the journey takes about an hour. There is no train station at Jigongshan itself.
Visitors coming from Wuhan often find it more convenient than those approaching from the rest of Henan — the mountain sits at the southern edge of the province, culturally and geographically closer to the Wuhan urban area than to Zhengzhou. A direct bus from Wuhan to Jigongshan operates on certain days; check current schedules locally.
