Kaifeng's historic centre contains one of Henan's richest concentrations of Song-dynasty monuments in a relatively compact area. The Iron Pagoda, Dragon Pavilion, and Daxiangguo Temple are the three anchors of any visit; Millennium City Park fills an afternoon with its theatrical recreation of Song-dynasty life. Allow two days to see the main sites at a comfortable pace, with time for the evening food markets.
