Shiyan has a high-speed rail connection to Wuhan; the journey takes about two and a half hours. The station, Shiyan Railway Station, is in the eastern part of the city. From Shiyan, the Wudang Mountains are approximately an hour by car or bus — take a bus from the long-distance bus station to Wudangshan Town (at the base of the mountain) or Nanyan.
Shiyan Wudangshan Airport has direct flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and a few other major cities, making it possible to fly in and head straight to the mountains. Long-distance buses connect Shiyan to Yichang, Xi'an, and regional towns in the Qinba Mountains area.
