Furong is a compact place built around a single dramatic fact: the waterfall that drops through the middle of the ancient street. Allow two to three hours to walk the main street from the waterfall at the bottom to the plateau at the top, then return via a different path or by the cable car. An overnight stay lets you see the lantern-lit street in the evening, which is when the film connection is most vividly present.
