Hulun Lake is primarily a natural destination: birdwatching, boating, fishing, and the grassland landscape that surrounds it on all sides. The visitor infrastructure is concentrated on the southern shore near Manzhouli, where yurt camps and boat hire are available. The northern and eastern shores are more remote and correspondingly more rewarding for serious birdwatchers.
