Ordos splits between its main attractions: the Genghis Khan Mausoleum to the south, the Kubuqi Desert to the north, and the city itself — specifically Kangbashi, the famous ghost city that has since filled in. Each of these is worth a visit for different reasons, and together they make Ordos one of the more thought-provoking destinations in Inner Mongolia.
