Ximatai, on Hubu Hill, is a reconstructed historic terrace linked in local tradition to the warlord Xiang Yu and ancient horsemanship training. Most visible structures are modern reconstructions from the 1980s rather than surviving Ming-era remains.
The main reason to come is the hilltop setting: it gives a good view over central Xuzhou and connects several layers of the city's historical memory in one short walk.
