Yangzhou is served by Yangzhoudong (Yangzhou East) Station on the Lianhuo high-speed railway, about 20 minutes from Nanjing by fast train and about 1.5 hours from Shanghai. There is also a slower conventional rail connection via Zhenjiang — cross the Yangtze River by high-speed train to Zhenjiang, then connect to Yangzhou — but the direct high-speed service is faster.
The Yangzhou–Taizhou Airport, shared with Taizhou, handles domestic flights to Beijing, Shanghai, and other major cities. A shuttle bus connects the airport to central Yangzhou. If arriving from Zhenjiang, a ferry across the Yangtze (about 20 minutes) is an atmospheric alternative to the train, though the schedule is limited.
