West Jiangxi War Resistance Museum

The West Jiangxi War Resistance Museum documents the Xinyu region's experience of the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945), a period in which the area saw significant military activity as Japanese forces pushed into Jiangxi from the north and east. The museum covers the specific battles fought in the region, the civilian experience of occupation and resistance, and the local figures who organized resistance operations.

The collection includes weapons, documents, photographs, and personal items from both Chinese and Japanese combatants. The level of regional specificity is unusual for a Chinese war museum of this size — most such institutions cover the national narrative at the expense of local detail. Entry is free.
