Baishan has a high-speed rail connection that makes it reachable from the main Jilin corridor. The high-speed train from Changchun takes about two hours via Jilin City; from there onward services continue toward the Changbaishan area. Baishan also has direct rail connections to Tonghua and other cities in southern Jilin.
For visitors approaching Changbaishan from Baishan rather than the northern route via Baihe, road transport is necessary for the final section into the reserve.
