Fushun is forty-five kilometres east of Shenyang and connected by suburban rail — the Shenfu New City urban rail line runs from Shenyang city centre to Fushun in about an hour, making it the most convenient connection. High-speed trains do not serve Fushun directly; Shenyang is the nearest high-speed hub for longer journeys. Buses also run frequently from Shenyang's long-distance terminal and from Shenyang's suburban bus stations, taking around seventy minutes.
The sites of most historical interest — Yongling Tomb and Hetuala in Xinbin County — are not reachable by public transport and require a taxi or hired car for the day.
