The beach south of Xingcheng city is a long strip of fine sand along the Liaodong Bay, with Juhua Island visible offshore on clear days. It is the most developed beach in western Liaoning and attracts substantial summer crowds — primarily from Shenyang and the surrounding industrial cities — but outside July and August it is a very different experience: empty sand, mild temperatures, and the particular quiet of a Chinese resort town out of season.
The beach facilities include the usual promenades, seafood restaurants, and summer entertainment infrastructure, most of which closes by October. The water is calmer than the Yellow Sea coast and the sand quality is reasonable. A summer sea festival in July draws visitors from across the northeast; the rest of the year the beach belongs to the locals. For off-season visits, the spring months offer the best combination of beach access, mild weather, and minimal crowds.
