Suyukou is the greener, walking-focused side of the Helan Mountains near Yinchuan. The forest park sits northwest of the city, where the range rises abruptly out of Ningxia's dry plain, and gives visitors a managed but still satisfying way into the cliffs, ravines, and pine-covered slopes.
It pairs naturally with the Helan Mountain rock carvings, which sit close by and carry more historical weight. Come to Suyukou for the landscape: paths, stairs, fresh air, and a sense of how sharply the mountains define Yinchuan's western horizon. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons.
