Great Mosque

Tang-dynasty mosque built in Chinese pavilion style, founded 742 AD

One of the largest and oldest mosques in China, founded in 742 AD, tucked into the alleyways of the Muslim Quarter. The architecture is unusual — Chinese pavilion style rather than domed Islamic. Non-Muslims can visit the gardens but not the prayer hall. Worth an hour alongside a walk through the surrounding food market.
