The closest high-speed rail station to Qufu is Qufu East Station on the Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway, about 15 kilometres east of the old city. From Beijing South, Qufu East is about 2 hours (¥170–250). From Jinan, it is about 30 minutes on the high-speed train. Shared minibuses and taxis connect Qufu East Station to the old city in 20–25 minutes.
The older Yanzhou Station (conventional rail) is 15 kilometres northwest of Qufu and also has frequent connections to Jinan. From Jining city, the bus to Qufu takes about 45 minutes and is inexpensive. Within the walled city, bicycle hire is the most practical transport option; the old city is small enough to walk entirely.
