Nanshan Park is one of Yantai's classic urban escapes, climbing into green hills south of the centre. Gardens, pavilions, small temples, and family attractions make it a broad local park rather than a single monument, but the real reward is the sense of space and city views.
Go when you want to understand Yantai beyond the seafront. It is especially pleasant in clear weather, when the hills help frame the port city and give you a break from traffic, shopping streets, and beach promenades.
