Yuantong Temple is a Qing-era Buddhist temple in Datong's old city, rebuilt in 1664 after the Qing massacre of Datong. Its north-facing layout is unusual for the city, and the surviving buildings along the central axis make it a worthwhile secondary stop after Huayan and Shanhua temples.
