Leshan is about two hours south of Chengdu by bus. Buses depart from Chengdu's Xinnanmen bus station or the high-speed rail station area throughout the day. The journey by high-speed rail to Leshan station takes around 40 minutes; regular buses take closer to two hours depending on traffic.
From Mount Emei, Leshan is a straightforward connection — buses run between the two tourist sites regularly, and the two are commonly visited together in a single trip from Chengdu. The Giant Buddha and Mount Emei share UNESCO World Heritage Site status, inscribed together in 1996.
There is no significant air connection at Leshan; most visitors arrive via Chengdu.
