Eating Out

Taipa Village has the best Macanese food in Macau — the traditional cuisine that blends Portuguese and Chinese cooking with Indian, Malay, and African influences picked up along the Portuguese trade routes. The restaurants in the village lanes are small, usually family-run, and serve dishes you will not easily find elsewhere: African chicken (baked in spiced chilli sauce), minchi (a hash of minced pork with potatoes and soy), bacalhau (salted cod) prepared in half a dozen different ways. Prices are reasonable by Macau standards.

On the Cotai Strip, the casino hotels offer every type of international dining imaginable, from dim sum to celebrity-chef restaurants, but with prices to match the surroundings.
