Taipa is connected to the Macau peninsula by three bridges and by the Cotai Strip's free shuttle bus network — virtually every major casino hotel runs shuttles to and from the ferry terminals and the peninsula's main hotels. The shuttles are the easiest and cheapest way to move around, though they only connect casino properties to each other and to the ferry piers.
Within the Taipa Village area, walking is the only sensible option — the village lanes are too narrow for traffic. The village is compact and easily covered on foot. Taxis are available across the island and are inexpensive by international standards; most drivers speak enough Mandarin or Cantonese, though not always English.
The Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) has a Taipa line with stations serving the ferry terminal, Cotai, and the village. Single rides are cheap and the stations are air-conditioned — a relief in summer.
