Ningbo is well-connected by high-speed rail. The main station (Ningbo Station) is served by trains to Shanghai (about two hours), Hangzhou (under an hour), and destinations further along the Zhejiang coast. Ningbo Lishe International Airport handles direct international flights to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, as well as extensive domestic connections.
From Shanghai, the fastest option is high-speed rail to Ningbo direct (under two hours); the Hangzhou connection is equally fast. For those coming from Zhoushan or Mount Putuo, ferries arrive at the Beilun terminal in the northeast of the city, from which buses connect to the centre.
Within China, Ningbo is a hub for routes down the Zhejiang coast to Wenzhou and beyond, and north to Shanghai and the Yangtze Delta cities. The city's position on the rail network makes it an easy base for day trips in multiple directions.
