The main shopping area is around The Square and along Nissi Avenue and St. Makariou Avenue, where you will find a mix of tourist shops, designer boutiques, and jewellery stores. Designer goods -- clothing, watches, sunglasses -- tend to run about 30% cheaper than in the UK.
For something more local, look for Cypriot handicrafts: Lefkara lace, handmade ceramics, woven baskets, olive oil, and local wine. Most shops stay open until 11 pm during the week and close earlier on Sundays. Credit cards are widely accepted.
