Faneromeni Church sits away from Larnaca's seafront sights and rewards a modest detour if you enjoy local churches. The modern church is active and neighbourhood-oriented, while the older sacred space below gives the site a deeper, rougher character than its exterior suggests.
It is not as essential as St. Lazarus, but it adds variety to a Larnaca walk. Dress and behave as you would in any working church, and use the visit as a way to see a residential side of the city beyond the promenade.
