The Limassol Folk Art Museum on Agiou Andreou Street holds one of the best collections of traditional Cypriot crafts in the country — embroidery, weaving, silverwork, woodcarving, and ceramics that document the island's pre-industrialisation material culture. The collection spans several centuries and gives a clear picture of how everyday objects were made and used before mass production.
The museum is housed in a handsome 19th-century building in the old quarter of the city, not far from the castle. The items on display were collected mainly in the mid-20th century, when traditional craftwork was still being practised in villages across the island. Particularly impressive are the embroidered textiles and the carved wooden wedding chests.
