The small archaeology museum near the main bus station in Karimnagar holds a worthwhile collection of artefacts recovered from sites across the district — bronze figures, terracotta sculptures, and carved stone panels from the Satavahana (1st–3rd century CE) and Kakatiya (12th–14th century CE) periods. The Kakatiya pieces in particular show why the region was an important cultural centre before the Delhi Sultanate destroyed the dynasty in 1323.
The collection is modest — you can see everything in half an hour — but if you are passing through or interested in the region's history, it provides useful context for the fort at Elgandal and the Kakatiya-era temple carvings at sites further afield. Signage is in Telugu and English. Entry is free or nominal.
