Bahai Temple

Delhi's iconic lotus-shaped Bahai House of Worship, free and open to all

Address Outer Ring Rd.

The Lotus Temple is one of Delhi's most striking modern buildings — 27 marble-clad petals arranged to form a giant lotus flower rising from shallow pools. Completed in 1986 and designed by Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba, it serves as the Bahai House of Worship for the Indian subcontinent.

Entry is free. The hall seats 1,300 and is open to people of all faiths for silent prayer and meditation. No sermons, no rituals — just quiet. Shoes must be removed at the entrance.

Located in Bahapur, about 13 km south-east of Connaught Place. Nearest metro is Kalkaji Mandir on the Violet Line. Closed Mondays.
