A 15-minute tuk-tuk ride east of Candolim, the Museum of Goa (MOG) is a privately run contemporary art space set in the rather unglamorous Pilerne Industrial Estate. Don't be put off by the location — inside it is a serious, well-curated three-storey gallery showing established and emerging Indian artists.
Rotating exhibitions cover painting, sculpture, photography and installation. The museum was founded in 2015 by Goan artist Subodh Kerkar and has carved out a real role on the regional art map. There is a small cafe on the ground floor and a shop with prints and books.
