Margao rewards a full day rather than a quick transit stop. The old Catholic quarter around the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Sat Burzam Ghor mansion can be covered on foot in a morning; the covered market is best visited early. The Goa Chitra Museum in Benaulim, a short autorickshaw ride away, is worth two to three hours on its own.
