Gandhinagar is 25 km north of Ahmedabad, connected by regular buses and shared autos along the main highway. The Gandhinagar Capital railway station (opened 2021, rebuilt as part of a major development project above the station) has services from Ahmedabad and a few long-distance trains. The journey by road takes 30–45 minutes depending on traffic. From Ahmedabad airport, Gandhinagar is about 30 km and is most easily reached by taxi.
