Patan is 130 km north of Ahmedabad and easy to reach by road. Most travellers come on a day trip combining Patan with Modhera and Siddhpur — a hired car from Ahmedabad with a driver costs around ₹3,000 for the day. Government and private buses run frequently from Ahmedabad's Geeta Mandir bus stand (about 3 hours), and trains from Ahmedabad terminate at Patan Junction in a little over four hours.
