Rose Garden

The Rose Garden is a small but well-tended ornamental garden near the centre of town, planted with dozens of varieties of roses that bloom most profusely from November through February. It's a pleasant place for a half-hour stroll — the cooler hill-station climate suits roses far better than the plains of Gujarat, and the garden is maintained with enough care that it remains colourful through most of the dry season.

The garden is popular with families for photos, particularly in the morning light. Entry is cheap and it makes a natural stop between the lake promenade and the ropeway. In peak bloom, the scent carries some distance; in summer it is less spectacular but still green and shaded, which counts for something at a hill station in April.
