October to February is the sweet spot: the monsoon has washed the hills a vivid green, temperatures are pleasant (cool nights, mild days), and the roads are fully open. This is when Saputara is at its best — clear views, comfortable walking, and the forest in good shape.
April and May bring peak season crowds, as Gujarati families drive up from Surat and Ahmedabad to escape the plains heat. The hill station is busiest and most expensive then; accommodation books out on weekends. The monsoon itself (June to September) can be spectacular — the waterfalls run full and the forest is intensely green — but the mountain road via Ahwa can be treacherous after heavy rain, and some attractions close or reduce hours. If you come in the monsoon, check road conditions before you travel and allow extra time.
